Slick Summerhill Residence

[dropcap]Not[/dropcap] all the photography I share on my site is going to be shot by me :)  I want to show off work that I adore and architecture that I would adore to be able to shoot.  There is so much amazing architecture happening constantly and I desire to shoot more and more often.  I’m trying to find my style with my architectural photography so I’m loving to explore what’s going on out there.

Captivated by the Sky

It’s been 10 days since I mentioned a website I’m working on for my own Instagram (and more secrets) photography. Since that post, I haven’t had much time at all to work on it as it’s not priority. Wedding photography edits, engagement photography edits, lifestyle edits, and being a WooThemes Ninja are all priority (hence the post earlier today). In all the hectic priority stuff, I noticed that when out of the house, I’ve been captivated by the sky.

Almost as popular as cat photos, sky photos are pretty big on Instagram. A tip that I won’t ramble on about is to not apply much of a filter to sky images or they get really nasty, quickly. I don’t think anyone can really take too many photos of the sky though. It’s captivated humans long before the mobile phone (and since forever). I wonder if that that natural curiosity about the sky will ever go away. I mean in an evolutionary sense like that we’ve explored so much that there is little wonder anymore?

In 10,000 years will we still be taking photos of the sky?

Instagram is Simply Wild

I am continually amazed by Instagram.  They didn’t even need to put out an update for me to fall back in love with it.  I follow about 450 people on Instagam and I’m inspired all the time.  Even following some famous people on Instagram is inspiring me.   I have 2 different kinds of series now on Nuwomb.com and I’m going to continue them as often as I can.

1) Our Instagram Celebrities

These are the people that I have found to really take amazing iPhone photography and share via Instagram.  They are other photographers, designers, architectures, car sales people, telemarketers, whatever.  People follow them because they take great photos on a regular basis.  They have become their own Instagram Celebrities.

2) Celebrities on Instagram

See the difference from number 1? This series looks at celebrities that have jumped into Instagram and are building a following.  These are the hollywood type actors, musicians, CEO’s, and other rockstars. People want to look at their everyday life and the way they see the world.  People are crazy about these celebrities and it’s also interesting to see the ones adopting new media and social tech.

Inspiring Myself

[twitter]I am a pretty self-motivated person, but I can be my own enemy as I just from passion to passion.  I won’t say I have ADHD because I don’t know if I do, but I have been wondering for years.  That said, I still have to find ways to motivate myself, and inspire myself on a daily basis.  I constantly make sure a lot of content and informations passes over my eyes.  I become submersed in amazing writing, art, photography, and design so that I can heighten my own creativity.

Recently, I’ve been wanting to redesign photography business cards for myself as a London Ontario Photographer, but also for Nuwomb [http://www.nuwomb.com] – my photography website that looks to help other photographers. In doing this, I’ve surrounded myself with finding more and more business cards of photographers to see what’s out there.   Thankfully these posts have really got me thinking beyond just my business cards.  I actually want to help create some designs for photographers to download or to have me design unique business cards for their photography business.

I feel that my passion for finding this stuff and digging deep will give me a bit of an edge as I create them in the future.
