I’ve found so much joy in reading. Lately, I’m constantly reading. I believe that continuous learning is vastly important if I want to make my life interesting as I grow older. Within continuous learning must come reading.
The most important form of my reading comes from books. The Kindle or, in my case, the iPad with Kindle app is home of a number of books. I’m reading a bunch right now but I’m focused on one in particular before moving onto the next. Reading in the mornings and then again before bed has become a ritual that I don’t want to break. I know this is powerful and that I am doing something that a great percentage of the population doesn’t bother to do.
I have a bunch of physical books too. I love the way they look around me; however, I do believe that I may look to find a way to sell them soon and hopefully make some money. More important, the books will hopefully get some new attention and spread their ideas with more people. If you’d like to know what books I may have to sell, shoot an e-mail to scottwebb[at]nuwomb.com.
Read subjects that you’re interested in. Read about photography, technology, money, and art. Continuous reading is continuous learning. It didn’t stop after high school or college.
I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep my own anxiety and bipolar depression at bay.
I read, but I need to read more. I meditate, but I need to meditate more – so I don’t just fall asleep.
A great bit of insight I just read comes from Tim Sanders and “Today We are Rich”
Try this exercise the next time you are about to face a challenge. Instead of worrying, relive a relevant success experience where you excelled. Think of how courageous, creative, and /or forceful you were. Relive how well it turned out then, and consider how similar that situation is to your present task. If possible, carry a picture from the experience in your wallet or stored on your smart phone. Realize that you are the same, if not a better, person today than you were then.
Pretty powerful. I believe it because I’ve done it before. I also think about baby steps. What? I think about the last small action I took that advance me. In my photography I think back to the last time I tried something and it wasn’t that bad. It became a learning experience and I’m always better prepared and more confident the next time. It’s amazing.
P.S. I’m successful in my routine so far today.
[twitter]I am a pretty self-motivated person, but I can be my own enemy as I just from passion to passion. I won’t say I have ADHD because I don’t know if I do, but I have been wondering for years. That said, I still have to find ways to motivate myself, and inspire myself on a daily basis. I constantly make sure a lot of content and informations passes over my eyes. I become submersed in amazing writing, art, photography, and design so that I can heighten my own creativity.
Recently, I’ve been wanting to redesign photography business cards for myself as a London Ontario Photographer, but also for Nuwomb [http://www.nuwomb.com] – my photography website that looks to help other photographers. In doing this, I’ve surrounded myself with finding more and more business cards of photographers to see what’s out there. Thankfully these posts have really got me thinking beyond just my business cards. I actually want to help create some designs for photographers to download or to have me design unique business cards for their photography business.
I feel that my passion for finding this stuff and digging deep will give me a bit of an edge as I create them in the future.
If you are interested in some inspiration for business cards [as a photographer or not] here are the 4 posts in the nuwomb series so far:
I find so much truth in the part that says you will find opportunity within the risks you take. One of my most important values is curiosity. You’ve got to be curious. In curiosity will comes risks and the need to find out if your ideas will spread.
