WooThemes Makes Me a Junior Forum Ninja

WooThemes Hired MeI’ve been trolling around the WooThemes Support Forum now for a bit.  Since receiving the news, each day has gotten more and more interesting.  I’m getting more and more into the loop.  I’m pumped and excited as the roll of a support forum ninja utilizes a bunch of past skills and challenges me moving forward.

I’m saving some writing to layout over more posts related to my decision to apply for the position with WooThemes. It’s writing related to things I’ve noticed, thoughts, and why their company interested me so much.  The notes are spread all throughout my Evernote account from the past.

One thing I’d like to note is that the process for applying to WooThemes has always been something unique to me.  A process that I believe in and a process that reminds me why I killed my Linkedin account.   If you’re unfamiliar with WooThemes, their HeadQuarters is out of South Africa and the owners / founders are in South Africa and one in Norway.  The rest of the WooTeam is all over the globe – see for yourself here.

So, was there an interview? How did it work? All I can say is that Adii asked me a very tough question and I went with my intuition.  More on all of this soon.

I’m excited, nervous, and digging deeper into WordPress and more.   I’m excited to work with such a creative, passionate, and talented team.   Again, more on adjusting and other things here soon :)

Junior WooThemes Ninja!

Hey WooThemes,

If you’re on this page, you probably got my e-mail for the Junior WooThemes Ninja position you posted yesterday.  I got my photography work out of the way for the day as quick as I could so that I could spend the rest of my waking hours on an application.  I’d be honored to work with such a company that I believe in and connect with inside.

A number of posts back, I mentioned who I would love to do some work for? Yeah, WooThemes was one of the companies that was top of mind.  I woke up yesterday and the first thing I checked was the WooThemes blog to see what might be new.  There wasn’t new posts or new themes released yet; however, soon after, I caught wind of a tweet from WooThemes.  That tweet said they were hiring.

I was all over it.  My mind racing with ideas. Could I borrow a DSLR with HD Video? Could I get short video clips from people I’ve helped with their WordPress blogs and themes? Could I write some sweet poetry? Maybe I could sing a song? I wanted to do it all.  A new thing everyday! I couldn’t put off submitting something to them and still being creative.  I needed to take action and regardless, I had fun with this experience.

From where I sit, a blue sky and the smell of fresh cut grass, I believe I’m a great fit in this equation.  Go figure, this blog is the only one that I’m not using a WooThemes Theme on.  Got to research other theme companies, right? I am confident I could create this with Canvas, though!

Anyways, I really appreciate your time jumping around to different places with my application.   I would love to help with everything!  If you need to discuss things more, I’m available for skype or a first class ticket to South Africa.

Cheers! And Enjoy the Weekend!

P.S. This page on the top 10 reasons to hire scott still exits.  This is my permanent home now, but that website still ranks well for search *humf*

P.P.S If you can’t watch the video or want to see something extra rad, go look up “hire_me” as a user on instagram and look at the list view.
