Here are some of the frequent questions I’ve been asked in the past.
Do you shoot alone or do you have a team?
When possible or budgeted for, I try to have an assistant with me for a variety of reasons:
Do you shoot outside of London?
Most of my architectural photography is done within London, Ontario, but it is not limited to it. I am available to travel for projects in Southwestern Ontario, across Canada, and anywhere in the world. There's no stopping!
When is the best time to arrange shooting?
The best is to arrange access for the full day, if possible. The mains times we want to hit are:
These times can be used for both interior and exterior. The full day gives me the ability to be patient for great images to present themselves. Different times of day may prove better for certain details or vignettes.
All and All, the full day is best.
How soon do you deliver the final photos?
I do all my shooting and editing. The speed at which I’ll get the photos back to you will vary. I get into busy periods now and it could take 1-2 weeks depending on the scope of work too. In the past, I’ve been able to get photos back to the client on the same day or within a couple of days so that they could meet a deadline; however, I cannot promise this speed of work and why it is important to try and plan ahead as best as possible. I always try to do my best in getting images back to you as soon as possible.
How do you deliver the final photos?
The simplest way I’ve found has been to deliver the photos through Dropbox. I’ve tried many services and it’s only caused some confusion. Many other photography service sites cater to portrait photography and leave architectural photography in the dark. Dropbox is simple and there is no fluff.
If you have a special requirement of how you need the files delivered, I’d gladly accommodate.
What type of camera do you use?
I use a full-frame mirrorless camera, the Sony Alpha a7II. I absolutely love this camera and the quality I can produce using it.
